On March 29, 2023, another 10 dogs joined the 170 already in Šiaulių letenėlė shelter’s care. Among them – Cleopatra.

These ten dogs were taken from an animal hoarding situation in collaboration with the Šiauliai District Municipality and the State Food and Veterinary Service. Their previous “home” is hard to describe in words. These dogs lived with a person who, sadly, did not care about animal welfare. They were hungry, frightened, endlessly breeding… It wasn’t care – it was neglect. Their former owner will be punished for animal cruelty.

The smaller dogs found homes rather quickly – perhaps because of their size, people opened their hearts more easily. But Cleopatra – lovingly called Patė – stayed behind. And she is still waiting.

Born in 2021 – young, energetic, unbelievably curious and incredibly sweet, fun and loving. She carries so much joy inside and would fill someone’s life with warmth.

Cleopatra has never known what a true home feels like. Never had a person for whom she would be the whole world. Every morning she wakes up to the same fence. The same kennel. The same hopeful look in her eyes: “Maybe today?..”
