Where are you located?

RDCNL is based in the Netherlands and all of our shelters are located in Lithuania.

Can I meet the pet first / Can I visit the pets?

Yes, you can meet some of our adoptable pets in the Netherlands!

We have wonderful fosters who have welcomed adoptable pets into their homes. Please choose one of our foster cats, fill out the adoption application, and then have the video chat with an adoption coordinator. After this, we can schedule a meeting with you and the foster.

Can I visit your shelter?

RDCNL is not a shelter – we partner with shelters in Lithuania to find homes for their adoptable shelter pets. If you would like to visit our partner shelters, you would need to go to Lithuania.

We have foster pets who you can visit with an appointment.

What is your adoption fee?

Cats: between 260 and 280 euros.
Dogs: between 360 and 420 euros

Detailed adoption information is available on the Adoption Process page

Where does my adoption fee go?

Part of the fee goes to the shelter to help them pay for some of the pet’s care and the TRACES fee required by the Dutch government. The other part is for the certified transportation to the Netherlands.

Can I donate money?

The shelters in Lithuania would be so grateful for your donation! Visit this website for information about Our Partners and how to donate.

I have some food/toys/supplies I want to donate. Where can I drop them off?

Our shelters are in Lithuania, so RDCNL can’t accept physical donations at this time. However, there are many shelters in the Netherlands who could use your physical donations. Also consider donating to your city’s “Dierenvoedselbank.” Food donations there go to animals who have food insecurity at home.

I want to volunteer!

That’s so amazing! We would love to have your help. Check out our volunteer opportunities on our volunteer page.

Volunteering is 100% remote.

Please note we don’t have shelters in the Netherlands, so if you are interested in volunteering at a physical shelter in the Netherlands, or as a dog groomer or walker, we do not have those opportunities.

If you would like to interact with animals while helping our shelters, become a foster! Then you can take care of pets on their journey to their forever homes.
