Hi, I’m Marlis.

I’ve been in the shelter for 4 years already. And in all that time, not a single person has come along, who truly fell in love with me. People often would look at me and say: “That one looks angry…”

But do you know what’s the funniest part? I’m not angry at all! I’m just a little cautious. When life treats you harshly, you learn to look at people with distrust, sometimes even with fear.

I lived outside tied to a chain (just like my mom). Didn’t get much love or attention. Over time I grew weary of people. And that’s why I don’t run up to greet every person who wants to pet me. I need time to trust and to learn that people can be kind. And once you earn my trust, you immediately will see, that I have soooo much love to give and what a sweet dog I am! Just ask my shelter volunteers!

I don’t need much, just:
• a little time,
• a bit of patience,
• a person who understands, that behind my serious look there is a dog overflowing with love, who will become your best friend and a personal heart warmer.

I’m patiently waiting for my person. Someone who will understand me. Who will be patient with me. Someone I can give ALL this love to.
