Say hello to Mister! This is his story 🐱

Sometimes in a shelter you hear a diagnosis that breaks your heart. One of them is FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). When you hear these words, the first feeling is often sadness, because we know – the prognosis isn’t always easy and the likelihood of adoption drops immediately.

FeLV is a viral disease that weakens a cat’s immune system. Cats become more vulnerable to infections, may develop anemia, lose weight, become lethargic, run a fever, or have enlarged lymph nodes. Sometimes the disease shows no clear symptoms for a long time, while the body slowly grows weaker. The virus is usually spread through close contact – saliva, shared food bowls, grooming, or bites. Kittens can also get infected from their mother. It’s important to know that FeLV is contagious to other cats. That’s why FeLV+ cats should either live alone or only with other FeLV+ cats.

How long cats with FeLV live varies greatly. Sometimes it’s a few years, sometimes less. But with good care, a calm home and lots of love, there are cats who live long and happy lives. And yet, when this diagnosis is given to a young kitten, it hurts even more.

Mister is exactly that kind of kitten. Young (6-7 months old), gentle, the kind of kitten who simply melts in your arms😻 The one who seeks human closeness so deeply – cuddling, purring, looking into your eyes as if to say: ā€œPlease stay with me.ā€ Then comes the hardest part – kittens like him are often overlooked. 🄺

People are afraid of the diagnosis. But we have seen miracles more than once. FeLV+ cats have found wonderful people, were loved, safe, and lived surrounded by warmth. Those years – no matter how many – became the most beautiful ones🤩

Today, we want to introduce you to MisteršŸˆā€ā¬›šŸ¾ We truly believe Mister’s person is out there, could it be you?ā¤

The adoption fee for Mister is €330,-
