Niki & Romualdas

Niki was born May 2021, Romualdas May 2019
Niki is a girl and Romualdas a boy, both neutered
They are both social and very friendly
Lithuania (Miško trobelė shelter)
In the shelter since February 2023
Romualdas is FeLV+ and FIV+, but since these two have been living together for years they can be adopted together

Niki was abandoned at the cat feeding site when she was pregnant. The local cat caregiver brought Niki in, took care of her and after a while she started showing her softer side. With Niki being more attached to human the lady didn’t want to release Niki back into the street, so she joined the lady’s already large kitty household.

Romualdas was found wandering in the local gardens, where cats are often abandoned or roam there looking for food. Romualdas immediately demonstrated how friendly he is with people, especially with children!

After these two met at the lady’s house they immediately became best friends. Romualdas helped Niki to get used to social interaction, and learn to love humans too!

Unfortunately despite their caregiver has such a big heart, she recently suffered a stroke and is not fit to take care of the 9 kitties in her household anymore. Niki and Romualdas are one of the 9, and since they have been living together and being best friends for so long, we thus really hope they would find a home together.

These duo were so close of getting home, but while preparing for travel Romualdas was tested positive on Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), viral infectious viruses among cats. Despite the name might sound scary, cats with FeLV and FIV can still live a long and content life with more love and patience from the owner. A stress-free environment and healthy diet will support his health in long term, which is why we really hope to find Romualdas a loving home where he doesn’t need to compete for attention with other cats and has his bestie Niki at his side. They do though, need to be 100% indoor cats so to not risking spreading the virus to other cats.

At the moment both Romualdas and Niki are feeling well and has a long life ahead of them. If you have the space in your home and in your heart for this lovely and affectionate pair, please consult with our coordinators for caring advice of FeLV+ and FIV+ cats. We along with the shelter will be more than happy to share more info with yo

The adoption fee for Niki & Romualdas together is €480,-
